Resident Evil Village’s 60 minute demo is out now, and PC players can reset the clock
Playable demo is available for a week
Resident Evil Village’s 60-minute playable demo is now available on consoles and PC.
The demo, which allows players to explore the Village and Castle areas for a total of 30 minutes each, can be downloaded on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Steam and Stadia.
Capcom originally intended to limit access to the demo to just 24 hours. However, it extended this to a week following complaints from fans.
As reported by Eurogamer, PC users have already discovered a workaround for the Resident Evil Village demo’s 60-minute cap.
Steam user Leaves detailed the process, which allows players to reset the demo timer by performing the following instructions:
- Disable Steam Cloud for RE8 Demo
- Download Steam SAM (Steam Achievement Manager)
- Delete Local Savefiles
(Located: D:\Steam\userdata\<YOUR STEAM ID>\1541780\remote\win64_save\ - Start Steam SAM
- Select RE8 Demo
- Remove Achievements and Stats, confirm.
Resident Evil Village is the 10th main game in the Resident Evil series and the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It will be released on May 7 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
Capcom released a PS5 exclusive Resident Evil Village demo in January, which saw players take on the role of a character called the Maiden as she attempts to escape Dimitrescu Castle.
