Resident Evil Village will be getting a third-person mode and new story DLC
New characters including Lady Dimitrescu are also being added to Mercenaries
Resident Evil Village will be getting three major new features in an upcoming update called Winters’ Expansion.
The DLC will also be available as part of Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition, which includes the base game and Winters’ Expansion in one pack.
Winters’ Expansion will include a third-person mode, allowing players to see the protagonist Ethan as they play instead of playing in a first-person perspective.
It will also include an update to Mercenaries mode called Additional Orders, which includes new playable characters including Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu.
The expansion will also include a new story DLC called Shadows of Rose, which can also only be played in third-person mode.
Shadows of Rose has players controlling Ethan’s daughter Rose, who’s now older. The story is a sequel of sorts to Village, and lets players “experience Rose’s struggles with the terrifying powers she was born with”.
“To break free of the curse of her powers, she enters the consciousness of the Megamycete,” Capcom‘s description reads. “There, she meets a girl who looks just like her.
“In this mysterious realm of consciousness, time and space is warped beyond recognition. Rose is guided by a being who calls him self Michael, who might be of assistance with removing her powers.”
The new DLC and Village: Gold Edition are expected to release on October 28.
Capcom says this is also the date that Resident Evil RE:Verse will begin service.
