Report claims Mortal Kombat 1 DLC could include Peacemaker and Homelander
The anticipated reboot is said to be targeting a September release
The next Mortal Kombat game will feature a character pass that adds Peacemaker from the DC Universe as a guest fighter, it’s been claimed.
According to Windows Central, another possible DLC character is Homelander from comic book series The Boys.
Warner and NetherRealm have been teasing plans to reveal the next entry in the long-running series imminently, with two recently released videos hinting at a series reboot.
But ahead of an official announcement, various details have seemingly leaked. Reliable dataminer billbil-kun claimed this week that Mortal Kombat 1 will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
The standard version will reportedly cost $69.99 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles and $59.99 on Switch. A Premium edition will be priced at $109.99 and a Kollector’s version at $249.99.
Windows Central backed up these claims via its own sources. It also suggested the game title will be revealed in full in the next couple of weeks and that publisher Warner Bros. Games is currently targeting a September 2023 release window.
In February, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said during an earnings call that the next Mortal Kombat – which until that point hadn’t been officially announced – will be released this year.
