Redfall is reportedly targeting a May release date
The Arkane and Bethesda shooter is officially due out sometime this year
Bethesda and Arkane’s Xbox-exclusive co-op shooter Redfall is reportedly targeting a May release date.
That’s according to Windows Central, which claims to have heard via sources that the title will release in the first week of the month, if development goes to plan. Officially, Redfall has a ‘2023’ release window.
Redfall is a story-driven, open-world FPS which will be playable solo or with a team of up to four-players in co-op. It sees players battling to defeat a legion of vampires who have cut the quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts off from the outside world.
“Redfall is our effort to take what Arkane does well, a hybrid of first-person games and RPGs, and stretch ourselves a little bit,” director Harvey Smith (of Dishonored and Deus Ex fame) recently said of the title.
“Does this work in the open world? Does it work both solo and with co-op players? Can we take all our narrative layers and our improvisational mechanics and our style and spread that out across an open world?”
Last May, Bethesda delayed the Redfall and Starfield release dates from 2022 to 2023, when both titles will be made available for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
“The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them,” it said.
“We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating.”
