Red Dead Redemption 2 title update addresses a host of PC issues
Crashes and stuttering among the problems targeted in latest patch
Rockstar has released a new Red Dead Redemption 2 title update designed to fix many problems that PC players have been encountering since the game launched on November 5.
The lengthy Red Dead Redemption 2 title update 1.14 patch notes are broken down into graphics and performance fixes, stability fixes, control and user interface fixes, and general/miscellaneous ones.
Prior to the update’s release, Rockstar issued an apology for the game’s ongoing issues and said it’s working as quickly as possible to fix them.
“We are aware that a small number of Red Dead Redemption 2 PC players are still experiencing some ongoing problems with the game stuttering,” it said.
“We believe this is due to unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPU’s.”
Rockstar said title update 1.14 “will address the stuttering issue alongside a host of other fixes”, but that it’s continuing to work with Nvidia to “completely resolve the stuttering issue in a future update”, which may take another few days.
It added: “We sincerely apologize for this temporary inconvenience and will update you as soon as we have more information to share – we want everyone to be able to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC as we intended as soon as possible.
“And as a show of gratitude to our PC fans while we sort this out in the coming days, everyone who plays Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC this week and through to the holiday season will receive a complimentary care package for Red Dead Online that includes the Prieto Poncho and an assortment of provisions and ammo. Look for more details on the care package to come.
“Thanks again for your continued patience and understanding.”
Red Dead 2’s 1.14 update also adds new content to the game in the form of a Legendary Bounty for Red Dead Online, a weekly collectibles list, plus permanent and time-limited clothing.
