Rebel Wolves appoints CD Projekt Red veteran as creative director
The studio’s debut game is billed as a dark fantasy RPG for PC and consoles
CD Projekt Red veteran Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz has been appointed as creative director at Polish studio Rebel Wolves.
The Warsaw-based studio, which was co-founded in 2022 by The Witcher 3’s game and art directors, is currently working on a fantasy RPG for PC and new-gen consoles.
Tomaszkiewicz previously spent almost 13 years at CD Projekt, during which time he held roles including lead quest designer on The Witcher 3 and its expansions, and quest director on Cyberpunk 2077.
Prior to joining Rebel Wolves, he also spent two years working as principal narrative designer on Riot Games’ upcoming League of Legends MMO.
“There are so many fantastic RPGs out there today, however, I feel that there’s not only enough space but also a hunger among players for more captivating stories,” said Tomaszkiewicz.
“We aim to deliver an experience that will allow for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed. Helping craft this experience with so many talented people will be my mission at Rebel Wolves, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what the team has been up to for quite a while now.”
The studio’s debut game is described as a triple-A dark fantasy title built with Unreal 5 engine, which is being planned as the first part of a saga.
Rebel Wolves said today that the project has entered the alpha stage of development and that it plans to share more details about the game later this year.
