Ratchet & Clank (2016) is now free for PS4 and PS5 owners
The first part of Sony’s Play At Home initiative has now gone live
All PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners can now claim a digital copy of the 2016 reboot of Ratchet & Clank for free, as part of Sony‘s Play At Home initiative.
The game is available for download now on the PlayStation Store, and will be free until March 31 at 8pm PDT / April 1 at 4am BST. Once users redeem the game it will be theirs to keep.
Last week, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan said the Insomniac PS4 title was being given away to thank the PlayStation community during the time of the pandemic.
In addition to Ratchet & Clank, anime-focused subscription service Funimation (Wakanim in Europe) will offer PlayStation users “extended access” for a limited time, starting March 25.
Ryan said these offers are “just the beginning” of what PlayStation has planned for the Play At Home initiative.
“In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details on free games and entertainment offers dropping for our PlayStation community,” he said.
“I think we’ve got a great mix of games and entertainment offers lined up, and I hope this news made your day just a little bit brighter. We consider ourselves privileged to bring you this entertainment, and we are very grateful to be a part of your lives.”
Last year PlayStation gave away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey via the PlayStation Store.
