Rage 2 ‘Everything vs Me’ trailer released

The whole world is out to get you in the upcoming shooter

Bethesda has released a new Rage 2 trailer showcasing various enemies players will encounter in the post-apocalyptic shooter.

With 80% of the earth’s population annihilated by an asteroid, Rage 2’s wasteland is roamed by a diverse range of antagonists including ultra-violent thugs, swarms of mutated experiments, samurais and cyborgs.

The Rage 2 release date is set for Tuesday, May 14 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, almost eight years after the first game in the series arrived on consoles and PC.

While the original Rage featured a competitive multiplayer mode and co-op missions, Rage 2 won’t have as much of an online focus.

“We will have a social component but it’s not your typical multiplayer,” id Software studio director Tim Willits told Eurogamer last year.

“We’re not quite ready to talk about it but we understand community is important, and we understand connecting with other gamers is important.

“But there’s not a true what I call ‘classic’ multiplayer, so you’re not running around together with your friends,” he added, “because we feel we have enough hours of entertainment for your money.”

Rage 2 co-makers id Software and Avalanche Studios hope to keep players engaged with post-launch DLC, including the Rise of the Ghosts Expansion, which will be available by summer 2019.
