PUBG season 5 update hits consoles

New season refreshes the game’s desert map, Miramar

PUBG Corporation has released PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds season 5 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Launched earlier this month for PC, game update 5.1 refreshes the battle royale title’s desert map, Miramar, which now includes a racetrack and new objects including ramps, loops, jumps and signboards.

“With new content like a scoped Win94, map updates, and the new Vending Machines for dispersing support items, plus loot spawn improvements for DMRs and rifles to suit long-range engagements, Miramar has never looked better,” PUBG Corporation claims in a patch notes announcement.

“Season 5 also means a brand new Survivor Pass, Badlands – with updated mission systems and new challenges to reveal the hidden stories of Miramar.

“Plus, tons of new thematic Badlands skins to customize your Battleground look for those who purchase the premium Survivor Pass. Season 5 of the Survival Title System has also arrived with improvements to the Survivor Points system.

“Last but certainly not least,” PUBG Corporation adds, “we’ve added two new throwing features which allow players to toss certain support items to teammates and throw all melee weapons.”

The company recently introduced PUBG cross platform play for Xbox One and PS4.

PUBG Lite, a free-to-play, low-spec adaptation of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, launched in over 50 new countries across Europe and the Middle East earlier this month.
