New features and Survivor Pass coming to PC and consoles in October
PUBG Corporation has detailed PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds season 5 ahead of its imminent release.
Available now on the public test server ahead of its PC launch on October 23 and console release on October 29, update 5.1 refreshes the game’s Miramar map.
Update, October 23: PUBG Corporation has launched PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds season 5 for PC.
Original story continues: The map now includes a racetrack and new objects including ramps, loops, jumps and signboards across Miramar. One gold Mirado muscle car will also spawn in the garage in Hacienda del Patron each match, while vending machines have been added in Miramar and Camp Jackal.
New item throwing mechanics give players extra ways to assist teammates and attack enemies, while the latest Survivor Pass, titled Badlands, “rewards players with outfits and weapon skins themed around the harsh desert and its former inhabitants”. You can check out the patch notes here.
PUBG season 4 released for PC in July and for consoles in August, headlined by an update to the game’s original Erangel map.
PUBG Lite, a free-to-play, low-spec adaptation of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, launched in over 50 new countries across Europe and the Middle East earlier this month.
