PUBG getting cross-play support on Xbox One and PS4 later this year

PUBG Corporation has announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will get cross-play support on consoles.

The Xbox One and PS4 feature will arrive on the battle royale game’s public test server in late September ahead of an early October launch.

Additionally, PUBG season 4 will launch for consoles on August 27, having released for PC in late July.

PUBG Corporation said at the time that, going forward, game updates will revolve around new seasons featuring fresh content, skins, gameplay updates and Survivor Passes.

The headline feature of PUBG season 4 is an update to the game’s original Erangel map.

“An updated take on our classic map, it features new complexes, improved graphics, and surprises for fans who want to know more about the island,” said TS Jang, PUBG executive producer and head of development division.

Meanwhile, Survivor Pass 4: Aftermath “reveals the past and present of Erangel through skins and items from the island’s broad history”.
