Psychonauts 2 demo to be shown at E3 Coliseum
Tim Schafer and Jack Black to feature on panel for the platforming sequel
Geoff Keighley’s E3 Coliseum will include a Psychonauts 2 panel on Wednesday June 12, featuring Double Fine’s Tim Schafer, Jack Black and a demo of the upcoming platforming sequel.
Psychonauts 2 was announced at The Game Awards in 2015. Currently in alpha, it’s planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2019 on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.

Double Fine raised over $3.8 million from more than 24,000 backers on crowdfunding platform Fig to help develop the game, which is a sequel to 2005’s Psychonauts.
The original told the story of protagonist Razputin’s quest to join a group of international psychic secret agents, the Psychonauts, something he realises in the sequel with unexpected consequences.
Double Fine says: “Psychonauts 2 will feature a new hub world inside Psychonauts HQ. You’ll access new mental worlds as Raz peeks inside the minds of a host of new characters who need his help to combat their inner demons and unravel their deep-seated emotional issues. Raz will hone his secret agent PSI-abilities—and learn new ones too—using them to solve mysteries and uncover evil plots.”
E3 Coliseum will also feature an Infinity Ward panel covering the next Call of Duty game, a Respawn panel discussing the studio’s work on Apex Legends and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and a Netflix panel focused on developing its series into video games.
