PS5-style controller announced for Xbox platforms
The new ‘competitor’ controller for Xbox is based on Sony’s DualSense design
Peripheral firm Hyperkin has announced a new Xbox and PC controller based on PS5’s DualSense design.
The new ‘Competitor’ wired gamepad will be compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, featuring a PS5-style d-pad, and Hall Effect effect analog sticks positioned in the PlayStation style.
The controller’s triggers are also designed similarly to the PS5 DualSense controller, and a prominent mute button is featured on the gamepad’s face. Hyperkin is yet to share pricing or release info for Competitor.
Previously, Hyperkin created the classic ‘Duke’ and Xbox 360-style controllers for Xbox platforms and PC, which are available to purchase on its website.
While Microsoft’s plans may have changed, an official Xbox controller codenamed Sebile previously leaked via unredacted court documents published accidently, including one titled ‘Roadmap to 2030’.
It included information on Microsoft’s mid-generation console refresh, later announced as the all-digital Xbox Series X console, and was described as an “all-new, more immersive controller”.
