PS5 stock will be available at some GameStop stores on December 17
The retailer is planning to hold a PS5 sale event next week
GameStop will reportedly be selling PlayStation 5 console bundles at some of its stores next Friday, December 17, following its latest restock.
According to internal communications obtained by tech newsletter The Shortcut, participating GameStop stores will each have approximately 60 PS5 console bundles to sell, which are expected to be priced at around $750.
Available on a first-come first-served basis once stores open, they will include the PS5 disc console, Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, an additional PS5 controller and the PowerA PS5 DualSense charging station.
According to The Shortcut, GameStop staff have been given permission to start informing customers about the restock this weekend, so those interested in purchasing one should contact their local retailer about upcoming availability.
You may also be able to check if your local store is participating by entering your chosen city or zip code on GameStop’s website, which appears to be in the process of updating its PS5 store event page ahead of the restock.
US-based consumers hoping to purchase a PS5 console can also register their interest directly with Sony for a chance to do so. The company is making a limited number of PS5 consoles available for customers to purchase directly from PlayStation this holiday season.
Details on an Xbox Game Pass competitor service reportedly being planned by PlayStation emerged earlier this month.
According to documents seen by Bloomberg, the new subscription service is codenamed ‘Spartacus’ and will combine the current PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now services, phasing out the branding of the latter.
The service is expected to launch next spring, when it will be available on both PS4 and PS5 and be structured across three payment tiers, it’s claimed.
