PS5 launch title Godfall requires an internet connection to play
Game also releasing for PC next month via the Epic Games Store
Godfall will require an internet connection to play despite being playable solo.
Developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Software, the fantasy “looter-slasher” will be a PS5 launch game when it’s released on November 12, the same day the PC version launches via the Epic Games Store.
Counterplay confirmed on Twitter that an internet connection will be needed to play the game, which supports up to three players in co-op.
Counterplay has also labelled speculation the game will run at 4K native at 120fps incorrect.
“Performance QA and optimization is often the last step of development ahead of launch and that tuning is ongoing for us,” it said. “We’ll share real numbers when that work concludes.”
Selected Japanese YouTube content creators live streamed PS5 gameplay on Sunday, and you can watch all the videos on this page.
More than ten channels streamed PS5 content as part of a YouTube-sponsored festival called YouTube Gaming Week.
Most channels streamed Astro’s Playroom, the demo title included with PS5 and designed to show off the various features of its DualSense controller.
However, some channels also streamed PS5 gameplay for Godfall, Balan Wonderworld and Devil May Cry V Special Edition.
