PS5 event: How to watch today’s live stream
Sony is set to showcase its next-gen games for the first time tonight
Later today Sony will hold a digital PS5 games reveal event offering the most significant showcase of its next-gen plans to date.
The live stream will begin at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST and last for a little over an hour.
Pre-taped and set to be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second, it will offer the first look at “the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday”, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan.
The show can be viewed on various platforms including Twitch, but we’ve embedded the YouTube stream below so you can watch it on this page too.
Sony has recommended those planning to view the event do so using headphones as “there’s some cool audio work in the show”.
In May, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said the company would unveil a “compelling” line-up of PS5 games in the near future.
Today’s PS5 software showcase was originally scheduled to be held on June 4, but was pushed back in light of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests.
Prior to the delay, Sony had been advertising the show on US television, raising expectations that it has major announcements lined up for the event.
Horizon Zero Dawn composer Joris de Man teased a potential announcement today, and earlier this week Amazon began listing placeholders for PS5 games from various publishers including Rockstar, 2K, Konami and Bethesda.
