Project xCloud hits Australia, Brazil, Japan and Mexico next week

Microsoft is launching Project xCloud in Australia, Brazil, Japan and Mexico on November 18.

The company’s public technology preview for cloud gaming will be used to test the service in the four markets ahead of a full launch next year as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Registration for Project xCloud is open now, with invites set to be distributed beginning on November 18.

Project xCloud is supported on Android devices through the Xbox Game Streaming app in the Google Play Store, available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese.

As of mid-September, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 countries can play over 100 games on Android devices via the cloud using a compatible controller. 11 of these games also now support touch controls.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer expects to bring Game Pass to iOS devices “early next year” and has also suggested it could be bundled with TV streaming sticks.

Microsoft recently confirmed it’s working to enable Xbox Game Pass streaming on console and PC too.
