Premium watchmaker Anicorn is releasing a set of $800 Mega Drive / Genesis watches
The limited edition timepieces go on sale next week
Premium Hong Kong watchmaker Anicorn is selling a set of Sega Mega Drive and Genesis watches for $800 each.
The three watches are each designed to look like the three main Mk 1 models of Sega’s 16-bit console – the Japanese Mega Drive, the European Mega Drive and the North American Genesis.
The top cover looks like the circular part of each console, while the back of the watch and the leather strap each feature the console’s logo.
Each watch costs $800, and comes in a box with a design resembling the console, along with a metal numbered plate and a booklet about the console.
The watches go on sale on December 5 at 9am ET / 2pm GMT.
Anyone looking to splash out $2400 on all three may have to jump through some hoops, however, as the Genesis watch will be exclusively available to customers in the North and South America regions, while the two Mega Drive ones will be available everywhere except North and South America.
“The Sega Mega Drive / Genesis is not just a gaming console, it is a cultural phenomenon,” Anicorn’s promotional blurb reads.
“This watch allows you to embrace and carry that cultural impact with you everyday, turning it into a daily reminder of your gaming passion.”
