Pokémon’s TCG Illustration Contest cards will be available later this month
The three cards were designed by fans
The Pokemon Company has announced how fans will be able to acquire three special Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest cards.
The three cards, which feature Pikachu, Ferallgatr, and Toxtricity, will be made available at participating retailers in the US including GameStop and BestBuy. In the UK, players can get the cards by spending £15 at the Pokemon Center.
Players can get the cards from February 21st.
Around the world, select Pokémon Leagues will be giving out the cards during Pokémon Day 2025, which takes place in late February.
The contest saw thousands of entrants submitting fan art of their favorite Pokémon, with the winner of the competition receiving $5000.
Winner Kazuki Minami said, “I’m truly honored to receive this prize. As this was my first time taking part in this contest, I wasn’t sure what to draw and how to draw it.
“That’s when my dog came into my sight being cute—I was inspired to draw Pikachu in such a way that reminds me of my dog. So the prize belongs to my dog as much as it does to me, and we’re both extremely happy and honored. Thank you.”
