Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is coming to mobile this year
It will feature “immersive cards” and streamlined game rules so players can engage in quick battles
The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
The new digital Pokémon Trading Card Game experience is coming to iOS and Android devices in 2024.
“This game lets you easily collect Pokémon cards which players all over the world have enjoyed since they debuted in 1996, but in a new digital format,” said The Pokémon Company chief operating officer Takato Utsunomiya.
“The Pokemon Company is developing this game as a three-party collaboration with Creatures Inc., the creators of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, and DeNA, our partners in the development of Pokemon Masters EX.
Creatures Inc. president and CEO Yuji Kitano said the game will feature “immersive cards [that] give players the experience of leaping into the world of the card illustration”.
“What’s more,” he added, “we’ve developed new streamlined game rules based on our existing battle system, so you can enjoy a quick battle during the free moments in your day.”
Players will be able to open two packs of digital cards per day free of charge.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was revealed during a Pokémon Presents showcase on Tuesday.
The presentation was also used to announce Pokémon Legends Z-A, a brand-new adventure coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025.
