Pokemon TCG Pocket’s second expansion set releases next week

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s second expansion, Mythical Island, will be released next week.

The set will include the introduction of Pokemon from the Johto region, as well as the addition of five new EX cards. The set will consist of over 80 cards when it is released on Tuesday, December 17.

“Experience wonder and whimsy with a new expansion’s worth of cards coming to the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket,” reads an official description of the set.

“Classic Mythical Pokémon Mew and Celebi are powerful Pokémon ex ready to add extra magic to your collection.

“The Mythical Island expansion features over 80 cards, including five new exciting Pokémon ex cards, five new Trainer cards, and gorgeous immersive cards ready to bring you into the wondrous world of Pokémon.”

Earlier this month, The Pokemon Company released the first roadmap for the mobile game and detailed some of the updates that will be coming soon.

“To begin with, we plan to add new booster packs by the end of the year,” it wrote on social media. “In addition, we are aiming to add a feature that allows certain cards to be traded starting in January, 2025. We are planning to gradually expand the selection of cards that are able to be traded.”

It added: “Also, we have other new features in development outside of the trade feature introduced here. We plan to announce more details about the update as the dates for the addition of these features are finalized, so please look forward to it.”
