Pokémon Sword & Shield video details battle changes
Switch exclusive is out November 15
The Pokémon company has released a new Pokémon Sword and Shield video, focusing on the game’s battle mode.
The 2-minute video includes details on new special and hidden abilities, plus the Switch exclusive’s online battles.
Sword and Pokémon Shield will include a host of gameplay additions, including the ability to Dynamax, which makes Pokémon giant in size and boosts their power.
The Wild Area stretching between the cities of Galar is where players will encounter most Pokémon, with different ones appearing depending on where players are and what the weather’s like.
Starter Pokémon include curious grass-type chimp Grookey, energetic fire-type rabbit Scorbunny, and stealthy water-type lizard Sobble.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release worldwide on November 15, 2019 for Nintendo Switch. A limited edition Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Switch Lite console will also be released in November.
Pokémon developer Game Freak is increasingly prioritising original game creation as part of its Gear Project initiative, programmer and director Masayuki Onoue told VGC in an interview published earlier this year.
