Pokémon Stadium is coming to the Switch Online Expansion Pack this month

Pokémon Stadium is the next Nintendo 64 game set to be added to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.

Released for N64 in western regions in 2000, the battle arena game includes every Pokémon from the Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow games, plus a number of solo and multiplayer modes.

It will join the Switch Online Expansion pack beginning on April 12.

“In Pokémon Stadium, you can battle it out solo with your chosen team of six Pokémon across four tournaments in Stadium mode or run it back against Kanto’s elite Trainers in Gym Leader Castle,” according to Nintendo.

“Winning in either of these modes will secure a spot for your champion team in Victory Palace, but completing both modes will unlock a final battle to challenge even the ultimate Trainer.”

A standard Switch Online membership gives subscribers access to a library of NES, SNES and Game Boy games.

Like Switch’s N64 catalogue, its Sega Mega Drive / Genesis and Game Boy Advance game libraries are only available with the Expansion Pass membership tier.

Nintendo and mobile firm DeNA launched a joint venture, Nintendo Systems, earlier this week.

Its website describes the company’s roles as “development and operation of systems related to the digital part of Nintendo’s business”, and “planning, development and operation of new services”.
