Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX review appears in Famitsu
Japanese publication awards the Switch game 35/40
The first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX review has been published in Famitsu.
The Japanese publication awarded the game a 35/40 review score (via Gematsu) ahead of its release for Switch this Friday, March 6.
Famitsu reviews games by taking the scores out of 10 from four separate critics and combining them. Three of its reviewers awarded the game 9/10, while one gave it 8/10.
The title is a remake of the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS games of the same name from 2006.
Mystery Dungeon has players navigating through randomly generated dungeons using turn-based moves.
In the dungeons, players fight other Pokémon while obtaining items and finding stairs to the next floor.
A demo version is currently available from the Nintendo eShop, with save games transferable to the full version of the title.
To date, more than five different instalments of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon have been released across Game Boy Advance, DS, Wii and 3DS.
The series is a spin-off of the mainline Mystery Dungeon franchise developed by Spike Chunsoft.
The game was announced during a Pokémon Nintendo Direct broadcast in January, which was also used to reveal two upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC expansions and the Pokémon Home cloud service’s February launch.
