Pokemon Center London has ‘completely sold out’ of London Pikachu plushies
Sword & Shield hoodies also out of stock
Pokemon Center London has now completely sold out of its key product, the London City Pikachu plush, ahead of its closure on Friday, November 15.
The pop up store said “phenomenal demand” was to blame for the early sell out of some items, which includes Pokemon Sword and Shield Varsity Hoodies, which are also completely out of stock.
Since the pop-up store opened on October 18 it has sold out of popular items before 2pm on most days.
Shoppers looking to visit the store have faced queue times of up to five hours, meaning that those who arrived after 10am were unlikely to enter the store in time to purchase the most sought-after items.
[UPDATE: Pokemon Center London says it has replaced London City Pikachu plushies with the London Guard Pikachu, a non-exclusive plush.]
The store sells a range of Pokémon Center-branded products and offers visitors limited access to a Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield-themed area featuring a playable demo of the upcoming Switch game.
Those who visit the Westfield Shepherd’s Bush store are no longer subject to an item limit. The store had previously limited items to five per customer.
Permanent Pokémon Center stores have been in operation throughout Japan and North America for several years, offering many exclusive items for sale.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield releases on November 15, the day the pop-up store in London is set to close its doors. The title’s available to pre-order from retailers including Nintendo, Amazon, Best Buy and Game.
