System Shock developer Nightdive Studios has sat down with VGC to talk all about the remake of the PC classic, how it’s been received by critics and players, and the console release of the games.
Nightdive CEO Stephen Kick and director of business development Larry Kuperman joined VGC’s Jordan Middler to discuss the long-in-development remake, the difficulties with crowdfunding, and more.
Plus, you can win one of five copies of the game on Steam.
The VGC Podcast System Shock special is available everywhere now.
System Shock was originally developed by Looking Glass Studios in 1994. Directed by Doug Church and produced by Warren Spector, it was a highly influential title that went on to inspire games like BioShock and Prey, both considered spiritual successors.
The game’s producer Warren Spector would go on to direct Deus Ex and produce Thief: Deadly Shadows.
Last year Nightdive Studios clarified the status of the long-missing-in-action System Shock 3, claiming that it’s now up to Tencent if the sequel gets made.
