PlayStation’s State of Play returns this week with ‘deep dives’ for PS5 games
PS4 games will also feature in the upcoming broadcast
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced it will stream a new State of Play presentation on Thursday, February 25.
Kicking off at 2pm PT/5pm ET/10pm UK and lasting for about 30 minutes, the broadcast promises to provide “deep dives for games coming to PS4 and PS5”.
“This Thursday, a State of Play broadcast will serve up new updates and deep dives for 10 games coming to PS4 and PS5, including new game announcements and updates on some of the third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase,” Sid Shuman, senior director SIE content communications, wrote on PlayStation Blog.
“The show is clocking it at 30 minutes or so, give or take. Can’t wait to hear what you think! And a quick note: there won’t be PlayStation hardware or business-focused updates in this show. We’re focusing on great games set to come out in the months ahead.”
June’s 2020’s PS5 software showcase featured Sony’s Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West and Returnal, among other titles.
Third-party games on show included Square Enix‘s Project Athia, Bethesda‘s Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop, Capcom‘s Resident Evil Village and Pragmata, and Ember Lab‘s Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Earlier on Tuesday, SIE announced that Gran Turismo 7 has been delayed to 2022 after Polyphony Digital’s racing game was “impacted by Covid-related production challenges”.
The company also confirmed plans to bring “a whole slate” of its games to PC, starting with a Days Gone port this spring.
And Sony revealed it’s working on a “next-generation VR system” designed for PS5. The headset, which will launch beyond 2021, will feature improved resolution, field of view tracking and utilise a new VR controller.
