PlayStation will make Ratchet & Clank (PS4) and more free in March
Play at Home initiative returns with free games and offers
PlayStation will give away Ratchet & Clank (2016) in March, as part of its Play at Home initiative.
In a blog post published on PlayStation.com, CEO Jim Ryan said the Insomniac PS4 title was being given away to thank the PlayStation community during the time of the pandemic.
“These days, we could all use something to look forward to and another reason to stay safely socially distanced, so we are happy to be able to offer a free selection of great games and some entertainment offers,” he said.
Ratchet & Clank PS4 will be available for free download through PlayStation Store from March 1 at 8pm PST / March 2 at 4am GMT until March 31 at 8pm PDT / April 1 at 4am BST. Once users redeem the game, it will be theirs to keep.
In addition to Ratchet & Clank, anime-focused subscription service Funimation (Wakanim in Europe) will offer PlayStation users “extended access” for a limited time, starting March 25.
Ryan said the offers detailed today are “just the beginning” of what PlayStation has planned for the Play At Home initiative.
“In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details on free games and entertainment offers dropping for our PlayStation community,” he said.
“I think we’ve got a great mix of games and entertainment offers lined up, and I hope this news made your day just a little bit brighter. We consider ourselves privileged to bring you this entertainment, and we are very grateful to be a part of your lives.”
Last year PlayStation gave away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey via the PlayStation Store.
