PlayStation’s new TV ad puts Kratos and Aloy in the Champions League
Sony has sponsored Europe’s premier football tournament for the last two decades
Sony Interactive Entertainment has premiered a new TV spot for the UEFA Champions League, featuring characters from its first-party PlayStation games.
The TV spot, which first appeared during Champions League football matches on October 19, has CGI recreations of Kratos (God of War), Nathan Drake (Uncharted), Aloy (Horizon) and Ratchet & Clank appearing inside a packed stadium.
SIE is a long-standing sponsor of the Champions League and has collaborated with organising body UEFA on various football experiences for more than two decades.

Sony reportedly started air freighting PlayStation 5 stock into the UK last week, as it attempts to better meet demand in the runup to Christmas.
Strong demand coupled with global chip shortages mean that Sony’s console has been difficult to come by since its launch in November 2020.
It’s claimed that Sony is planning to charter a further two flights to the UK (on top of the three that arrived in the last week) before the end of the month, which is a measure typically only actioned during periods of supply issues due to their high expense.
Last week Sony said that PlayStation 5 supply issues were negatively impacting hardware sales, but that it remains hopeful of hitting its annual console shipment target.
