PlayStation announces God of War 20th anniversary plans
A special art exhibition will take place in LA to celebrate the franchise

PlayStation has announced plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise.
The celebration will include new in-game content for God of War Ragnarok, new merchandise, and a physical art exhibition.
Players of God of War Ragnarok will be able to claim the new free Dark Odyssey Collection from March 20.
“Inspired by the working name of God of War (2005) and the skin that originally appeared in God of War II as a reward for beating the game on God Mode difficulty, we are bringing the classic black and gold theme for the 20th anniversary,” reads a blog post from Sony Santa Monica.
The cosmetic pack includes a skins for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, as well as new weapon cosmetics for Kratos.
From Saturday, March 15, until Sunday, March 23, fans will be able to visit a special God of War 20th anniversary art exhibition in the Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles, California.
“Featuring a collection of new artwork inspired by the past twenty years of God of War, including current and former Santa Monica Studio developers, concept art from the games, and unique memorabilia – this exhibition is a celebration of legacy through art.”
A new 20th-anniversary retrospective book has also been announced. The book, which will feature interviews with the developers of the franchise across its 20-year history, will be released later this year. A print collection from Cook and Becker will also be released later in 2025.
More merchandise, including a vinyl collection, new apparel, and Jörmungandr plush was also announced.

God of War Ragnarok was added to PlayStation Plus in January.
That same month, it was reported that Sony cancelled two unannounced live service PlayStation games, one of which is believed to have been a God of War game.
