Platinum will make an announcement in next week’s Famitsu, it claims
Company teases news in upcoming issue of Famitsu
PlatinumGames will reportedly make an announcement in the February 27 issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu.
The announcement was teased in this week’s edition of the magazine, according to Gematsu.
In early February, Platinum launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to bring The Wonderful 101 to Switch, PS4 and PC.
[UPDATE: PlatinumGames has officially announced Project G.G. with a trailer and letter from director Hideki Kamiya.]
The Wonderful 101 occupies one of four sections on a recently launched ‘Platinum4’ teaser website, with the remaining three sections currently featuring “coming soon” messaging.
The current issue of Famitsu also reveals that Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle, which released for PS4 and Xbox One on February 18 in the west, will hit Sony’s console on May 28 in Japan.
“Development on Bayonetta 3 is going well,” Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya also told the publication.
Speaking to VGC in an interview focused on the recently announced Kickstarter campaign for The Wonderful 101, Platinum studio head Atsushi Inaba didn’t rule out the possibility of Astral Chain following in the Wii U game’s footsteps by making the jump to non-Nintendo systems.
Inaba also recently said Platinum would ”love” to return to cancelled Xbox action game Scalebound if given the opportunity.
Platinum said in January it has received investment from Tencent which will see the studio remain independent while allowing it to explore self-publishing.
