Platinum thanks fans as Wonderful 101 Kickstarter concludes at $2.2m

The crowd-funding campaign for PlatinumGamesThe Wonderful 101: Remastered has concluded with a funding total of over $2.2 million (£1.7m).

The figure is over 40 times the campaign’s initial target of $50,000, and means stretch goals such as additional DLC and a remixed soundtrack have been achieved. The game will also be released for PS4 and PC, in addition to Nintendo Switch.

Plans for an Xbox One version of The Wonderful 101 Remastered were cancelled because it was considered too expensive to bring the game to Microsoft’s console, Platinum previously said.

In a statement published on Saturday, Platinum thanked its fans for their support.

“We at PlatinumGames want to express our heartfelt appreciation for all the warm wishes and support for our Kickstarter for The Wonderful 101: Remastered! We couldn’t have done it without all of you!”

The physical Wonderful 101: Remastered release date was recently confirmed to be May 19 in North America and May 22 in Europe.

The first Wonderful 101 Remastered gameplay videos recently emerged from PAX East, where the title was being demoed.
