PixelJunk studio’s Scrappers is an Apple Arcade exclusive
Stylised beat-em-up is out now on iOS
Q-Games has announced beat-em-up Scrappers for Apple Arcade – and it’s available to download now.
The Kyoto, Japan-based PixelJunk developer describes Scrappers as a “hyper-stylized futuristic waste-management beat ’em up” which has players battling through city streets either in hand-to-hand combat or with a selection of “wild” weapons.
Players travel through various city zones, each with their own style and obstacles, while unlocking over 100 customisable parts for their garbage truck.
The game is playable alone or with up to three others both locally, on a single device or online. Via iOS 13 Scrappers is compatible with Xbox Wireless Controllers and DualShock 4.
Apple Arcade launched in September 2019 priced at $4.99/£4.99 a month, although new users can sample the subscription service free for one month.
It offers unlimited access to a library of games for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, including VGC’s Audio Visual Game of the Year, Sayonara Wild Hearts.
Apple Arcade games aren’t available on any other mobile platform, all titles are playable offline and none feature advertisements or microtransactions.
