PES 2020 to get Euro 2020 tournament DLC

eFootball PES 2020 is to receive a free Euro 2020 tournament DLC update next year.

Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Uefa, PES publisher Konami has also announced that the game will feature over 50 national football associations at launch, including national teams’ kits, crests and players.

The Euro 2020 DLC update will arrive in the second quarter of 2020, presumably ahead of the tournament itself, which kicks off on June 12.

Konami and Uefa have also announced a new European esports competition, the UEFA eEURO 2020 tournament, which will see the top 16 teams to emerge from an online qualifying stage compete at a physical event in London between the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020.

Jonas Lygaard, senior director of brand and business development at Konami, said: “Our teams have pulled out all the stops to secure the biggest and best licenses possible for eFootball PES 2020; quality licenses that match the level we set each year when it comes to gameplay.”

In July, Konami said it had signed a new “long-term” and exclusive partnership with Juventus FC to feature the Italian champions’ intellectual property in its eFootball PES console games.

The eFootball PES 2020 release date is September 10, 2019.
