Persona 5 Royal coming West in 2020
Enhanced version of Persona 5 launching later this year in Japan
Atlus has announced a release date for Persona 5 Royal alongside new details about the JRPG, which is an enhanced version of Persona 5.
The PS4 game will launch on October 31, 2019 in Japan, ahead of its western release in 2020.
The title expands on the world of Persona 5 by introducing additional characters and gameplay features, plus graphical improvements and new music.
Atlus said it’ll also include a brand new third semester at Shujin Academy and enable players to dive “deeper into the personal lives, as well as the trials and tribulations, of the enigmatic (and exceedingly-stylish) Phantom Thieves”.
To accompany today’s news, the publisher released the trailer below, showing off the Japanese version of the game.
Persona 5 originally released on PS3 and PS4 in Japan in September 2016, before arriving in the West in April 2017. It has gone on to sell some 2.5 million copies.
The game’s protagonist Joker was released as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first DLC fighter earlier this month.
