People Can Fly’s next-gen shooter RPG Outriders gets a new video series
First video includes plenty of fresh gameplay and information
Square Enix has launched a new monthly Outriders video series.
Dubbed the Outriders Broadcast, it promises to deliver new gameplay and details on the upcoming shooter RPG from Gears of War: Judgment and Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly.
Announced at E3 2019, Outriders is a 1-3 player drop-in, drop-out co-op shooter for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
Set in “an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe”, it combines “violent powers” with an arsenal of “twisted” weaponry.
Poland-based People Can Fly, which was once owned by Epic Games, opened a fourth development studio in New York last year and currently employs over 250 staff.
“We’re still working hard on the development of Outriders and keeping on track for a holiday 2020 release,” creative director Bartek Kmita said this week.
“We are making the game we always wanted to play. The team at PCF are all gamers and we love shooters. Shooters are in our DNA and we have been making them for decades.
“At the same time, we also love RPG’s. We always wanted to play a deep RPG, with an epic story and the flexibility to create lots of interesting character builds, but we also wanted a skill-based, challenging and intense real-time combat system in our RPG. When the opportunity to create it ourselves came along, it was like a dream come true.”
People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski said last year that he’d like to give the Bulletstorm IP a new lease of life.
