Payday 3’s release date has been confirmed
The sequel is coming this September
Payday 3’s release date has been confirmed.
Announced during the Xbox Game Showcase, the game will release on September 21.
Developed by Starbreeze Studios, Payday 3 will be published by Plaion’s Prime Matter label this year for PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
Taking place in contemporary New York, the cooperative heist shooter will see the original gang – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains – coming out of retirement in a world that has further transitioned into the digital age.
“It is with great excitement that we present this first look at the gameplay of Payday 3,” Xbox said in an official blog post.
“This gameplay trailer takes place at a branch location of Secure Capital Bank somewhere in the bowels of New York City.
“We follow Dallas, Chains, Wolf and Hoxton as they don their masks and show the world that nowhere is safe enough from the Payday Gang.”
Starbreeze has said software giants, cryptocurrencies, mass surveillance and the Dark Web will play a role in the game, and they will be reflected in updated gadgetry that the gang uses.
The company claimed in January that 2013’s Payday 2 had sold over 40 million copies and boasted the largest community on Steam with over eight million players.
