Panzer Dragoon VR’s latest trailer confirms PC, console and standalone release
Crowdfunding to add additional episodes
Panzer Dragoon VR will be released for PC, console and standalone VR platforms, the game’s developer has confirmed in its latest trailer.
Announced in March and tentatively titled ‘Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record’, the VR game is in development at Japanese studio Wildman.
The game is described as “a completely new work” that will let players relive each of the various episodes from Sega Saturn titles Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei and Panzer Dragoon Saga.
According to the latest video, Wildman is planning to run a crowdfunding campaign later this year in order to expand Panzer Dragoon VR with additional “episodes.”
Originally released in 1995, the original Panzer Dragoon is a rail shooter in which the player rides atop an armoured blue dragon.
The aim is to get to the ancient Prototype Dragon and destroy it before it reaches a black tower containing a wealth of weaponry.
A Panzer Dragoon remake was released for Nintendo Switch earlier this year.
Developed by Polish studio Forever Entertainment, Remake is a timed console exclusive which Nintendo says is “true to the original, with improved graphics and controls, that suit modern gaming standards”.
