Palworld’s latest update includes crossplay, Photo mode and other new features
The Palworld version 0.5.0 patch is available now

Palworld has received a major update, adding numerous new features.
The version 0.5.0 patch is available now, and most notably adds crossplay, allowing players to interact regardless of which format they’re playing on.
The update also adds a new Photo mode, which is accessible from the Pal Command Wheel. Players can hide the UI and move the camera around to take snapshots of the game.
New storage options have also been added to the game, including a new Global Palbox, which lets players transfer Pals between worlds.
A new ‘Dimensional Pal Storage’ system has also been added, boasting 10 times the capacity of a normal Palbox. According to developer Pocketpair, “Guild members can access it, and it can also be used as a personal storage with private settings”.
For players who have grown attached to the way a specific armour looks but want to be able to upgrade it, a Cosmetic Armour system has been introduced, allowing them to upgrade their stats with new armour, while wearing different armour for cosmetic purposes.
Other features include a Drafting Table (which lets players combine low-rarity blueprints to create rarer ones) and dedicated servers for Mac.
The full list of patch notes can be found on the Palworld Steam page.
Following the enormous success of Palworld, which was played by more than 32 million players in its first year, developer Pocketpair announced in January that it’s launching a publishing division called Pocketpair Publishing.
While the publisher has yet to reveal its first game, it appears the announcement is imminent, with its official X account writing last week: “We should probably announce a game soon.”
Pocketpair’s publishing manager John Buckley has tried to temper expectations by telling fans the first batch of Pocketpair-published games won’t necessarily look or play like Palworld.
“I’m very nervous to reveal our first batch of games,” Buckley wrote on X. “Not because I think the reception will be bad (they are all bangers), but because I worry people will just expect more Palworld. Pocketpair Publishing’s goal is to help cool indies get made, so I hope you like our first round of games.”
He then clarified that by “people will just expect more Palworld”, he meant players hoping Pocketpair would only publish games that are like Palworld. “Palworld development is obviously completely unaffected by Pocketpair Publishing,” he noted.
