Overwatch’s ‘volatile tank’ Sigma is now available to play on the PTR

Overwatch’s 31st hero character, Sigma, is now playable in the game’s Public Test Region.

The new hero is described as “a volatile tank” who gained the power to control gravity in an astrophysics experiment gone wrong.

Sigma’s main attack launches two gravitic charges, which bounce off walls and implode after a short duration.

His other abilities include Experimental Barrier, which propels a floating barrier to a location of his choosing, and Kinetic Grasp, which freezes incoming projectiles in midair, converting them into shields.

Sigma’s Ultimate ability lifts enemies in a targeted area, and launches them into the sky before slamming them back down.

Blizzard released a character origin video for Sigma on Monday, appearing to align him with the game’s villainous faction, Talon.

Blizzard president J. Allen Brack recently said the studio’s looking into the possibility of expanding the Overwatch universe with new games, while noting that the company has more titles in development that at any point in its near 30-year history.

According to a report, a new Overwatch game is planned to be announced at the company’s BlizzCon event in November.
