Overwatch free trial now available

To coincide with the launch of new co-op mission Storm Rising

Overwatch free trial now available

Blizzard has launched a free Overwatch trial on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Available until April 23, the free trial includes the team-based shooter’s full roster of 30 playable heroes and 27 maps.

Players can level up, earn loot and customise their heroes, with progress carrying over to the full game if they buy it on the same Blizzard or console account.

Overwatch is currently heavily discounted on the Blizzard Shop, the PlayStation and Xbox stores, and at selected retailers.

The free trial’s arrival coincides with the launch of the game’s latest PvE Archives event, the replayable co-op mission Storm Rising.

It’s the third release in a series of story-driven missions which let players experience key moments in the game’s lore.

Blizzard’s Storm Rising description states: “The clock is ticking as Tracer, Genji, Winston, and Mercy travel to Cuba to head off a stormfront and chase down the Omnic Talon boss Maximilien”.

Also included in the latest Archives event are returning co-op missions Uprising and Retribution. Players can earn over 160 cosmetic items from the missions, which are available to play until May 6.
