Palworld has enjoyed a huge first year of early access

Over 32 million players have played Palworld in its first year, developer says

Palworld has crossed 32 million players in one year, according to its developer.

The game, which entered early access in January last year, has seen more than 32 million players across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, Pocketpair announced on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, developer Pocketpair provided an update on the game’s upcoming roadmap.

According to the studio, it will continue to update the Early Access version of the game with features such as co-op crossplay, a final boss and ending scenario, world transfers for Pals, and more.

First released in Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview last January, the monster-catching survival game was an immediate hit, attracting 25 million players in just its first month.

The game was also featured widely across streaming platforms such as Twitch and TikTok, becoming one of the platform’s most-streamed games during its debut month.

However, that attention also caused many to focus on the game’s alleged similarities to the Pokemon franchise.

Shortly after the game was released for PlayStation 5 in September it was announced that developer PocketPair faced a legal challenge from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company in Japan, who alleged that Palworld “infringes multiple patent rights”.
