One of Star Wars’ best FPS games is getting remastered in February
Nightdive’s Star Wars: Dark Forces remaster will feature 4K visuals and new controls
Nightdive’s Star Wars: Dark Forces remaster has been given a February 28, 2024 release date.
The remaster, which was announced earlier this year for consoles and PC, will support up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second, depending on the platform it’s running on.
It will also feature “advanced 3D rendering, modern gamepad support, trophies and achievements, and more,” according to Nightdive.
Star Wars: Dark Forces was originally released on PC in 1995, and is generally regarded as one of the franchise’s best first-person shooter games of that era.
The game has players taking control of Kyle Katarn, a mercenary employed by the Rebel Alliance, who takes on a series of missions to help them in their fight against the Empire.
At the time the game was praised for its action, as well as the introduction of a number of gameplay elements that were uncommon in FPS games at the time, including the ability to duck, jump, swim and look around.
