Official PlayStation YouTube video says Ridge Racer 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus
It looks like it was at one point due to be made available this month for Premium subscribers
Fresh evidence that Ridge Racer 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus emerged on Wednesday.
Earlier today Sony announced October’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog titles.
In a video accompanying the announcement, which is viewable below, PlayStation Access, the official YouTube channel of PlayStation UK, said that this month’s Classics line-up would include Ridge Racer 2.
However, the game wasn’t included on Sony’s official list of Classics titles set to be made available to PlayStation Plus Premium tier members in October.
These include Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, Limbo, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Everyday Shooter.
Presumably Ridge Racer 2 was previously scheduled for release in October, but the plan was changed and the PlayStation Access video wasn’t updated to reflect this.
Ridge Racer 2 appeared on the PlayStation Network’s backend servers in April, ahead of the launch of the new PlayStation Plus service.
And a few months ago, an Italian PlayStation Blog post listed Ridge Racer 2, Dino Crisis and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny as coming to PlayStation Plus in July, before it was edited to remove mention of the games.
Art from Dino Crisis also appeared on the Hong Kong PSN store in May.
Sony’s new PlayStation Stars loyalty program launched today in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
