Obsidian reveals Avowed, an ‘expansive’ first-person RPG set in Eora
Microsoft says the triple-A fantasy game is “Obsidian at their best”
Microsoft has announced Avowed, an “expansive” first-person RPG from Obsidian Entertainment.
Revealing the game during Thursday’s Xbox Series X software showcase, Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty said: “When Obsidian joined Xbox Game Studios, they told us this epic game is the one they want to make.”
“As creators of critically acclaimed RPGs, this is Obsidian at their best.”
Avowed is described as a triple-A title that takes place in Eora, the world in which Pillars of Eternity is set.
Obsidian also announced the first of two expansions for The Outer Worlds, and released a new trailer for Grounded, during Thursday’s showcase.
Outer Worlds expansion Peril on Gorgon is described as “a brand-new pulp-noir tinged adventure that takes players to the Gorgon Asteroid to investigate the mysterious origin of Adrena-Time”.
It will also increase the level cap to 33 when it releases on September 9, 2020 for $14.99. Or it can be purchased as part of the Outer Worlds Expansion Pass, which will also include upcoming expansion Murder on Eridanos for $24.99.
