Obsidian has seemingly leaked Avowed’s release date
A studio blog post briefly listed a November release before it was pulled
Obsidian has seemingly leaked plans to release Avowed in mid-November.
On Sunday, the studio published a blog post coinciding with the release of a new Avowed story trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase, which reiterated plans to release the game in 2024.
“The last few months at Obsidian Entertainment have been fast-paced and exciting. Since we saw you at the Xbox Developer Direct this past January, we’ve been busy with Avowed getting it ready for release on November 12, 2024,” a message from game director Carrie Patel originally read.
However, as noted by X user Wario64, the message was quickly updated to remove reference to the game’s release date.
It’s unclear why the the release date announcement was pulled, but it’s possible that launch plans for Avowed could be revealed when the RPG is featured on the Official Xbox Podcast later today.
Very weird. They immediately removed the Avowed release date after I posted this. Before and after pics attached. pic.twitter.com/vfH9QVlwzo

In April, The Verge accurately reported on a number of announcements that would go on to be made at Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase, including the reveal of new Call of Duty and Gears of War games.
It also claimed Microsoft would use the event to announce release dates for several games coming out this year, including November launch dates for Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. A November 19 release date for the latter was confirmed at yesterday’s event.
