November’s Xbox console update adds new dynamic backgrounds and more
Game Pass members can now browse and pre-load games via a Coming Soon section
Microsoft has begun rolling out November’s console update for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
The update introduces more dynamic backgrounds and a new Coming Soon section for Game Pass subscribers, among other features.
It also includes “the usual bug fixes and performance improvements”, according to Jonathan Hildebrandt, principal program manager for Xbox experiences.
The update enables users to customise their home screen with six new dynamic background designs, “including homages to previous generations of Xbox consoles and others based on popular profile themes”.

It also introduces the ability to view, choose to play later, and pre-install selected games before they hit Xbox Game Pass via a new Coming Soon section. Not all games can be pre-installed, but Game Pass mobile app users can queue any title to install it on the day of release.
Another new feature lets users identify which games are using the Auto HDR feature on Xbox Series X/S, which automatically adds HDR enhancements to games which only shipped with standard dynamic range. If a title is using Auto HDR, it will be tagged as doing so when opening the guide during a game.
Games which have been optmised for Xbox Series X/S have also had an “X|S” badge added to their tiles in the My Games and Apps section, and players can now use a Filter button to see a list of these titles.
