Nolan North has been pictured visiting the Uncharted movie set

Nolan North, who portrays Nathan Drake in PlayStation’s Uncharted game series, has been pictured visiting the set of the upcoming film.

Images posted on Twitter show North chatting with Spider-Man star Tom Holland, who’s playing Drake in the upcoming movie.

Holland also previously chatted with Naughty Dog vice president and Uncharted 4 co-director Neil Druckmann, who said the film set “looked insane”.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland), the Uncharted film is scheduled for release on July 16, 2021.

Rather than following the plot of the games, which have sold over 41 million units, the movie will tell a prequel story featuring Nathan Drake as a young treasure hunter learning from his mentor Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). The movie’s cast also reportedly includes Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: Last month Holland told fans filming was progressing well and was “everything I ever dreamed of”.

The Uncharted movie is the first feature film from PlayStation Productions, a studio formed by Sony Interactive Entertainment to adapt its original game properties for film and television.

The first TV series from PlayStation Productions will be an HBO adaptation of The Last of Us, co-written and executive produced by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Druckmann, the creative director of the game series.
