Nintendo will hold an Indie World live stream on Wednesday
It will feature 20 minutes of information on indie games coming to Switch
Nintendo has announced a new live stream focused on independent game news.
The latest Indie World showcase will take place on Wednesday, December 15 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK / 6pm CET and feature approximately 20 minutes of information on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch.
The stream will be viewable on Nintendo’s YouTube channel and via the video embedded at the top of this page.
Nintendo’s last Indie World showcase aired in August 2021. Highlights of the show included the announcement that acclaimed music puzzle game Tetris Effect was coming to Switch in October and the surprise launch of Axiom Verge 2.
Six other games shown during the event were released for Switch on the same day: Boyfriend Dungeon, Necrobarista: Final Pour, Islanders: Console Edition, Garden Story, Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition, and Curious Expedition 2.
Other games featured in the showcase included card-based RPG Loop Hero, Metal Slug Tactics, Jet Set Radio spiritual successor Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and Eastward, with the latter pair of titles confirmed as Switch timed console exclusives.
Nintendo claimed last week that Switch enjoyed its biggest sales week yet in November, in both the UK and across Europe, driven by the launch of a new Mario Kart 8: Deluxe hardware bundle for Black Friday.
Switch was also the best-selling console in the US in November, Nintendo said this week. According to research firm the NPD Group, 1.13 million Switch consoles were sold last month, with 550,000 sold during Thanksgiving week, making it the best-selling console over the Black Friday period.
