Gallery: Here are the first Nintendo Switch 2 images
First images show Joy-Cons, dock, and a new Mario Kart
Nintendo has finally revealed its new console, Nintendo Switch 2, and we’ve published the first images in a gallery below.
In a Nintendo Switch 2 reveal video published on Thursday, the platform holder confirmed the console will release this year, with a full reveal planned for April 2.
As expected, Switch 2 will sport a similar formfactor to the original Switch, with detachable joins – this time magnetic – and a large screen.
The Joy-Cons also now appear to be black with the colour appearing under the sticks and at the side where they connect to the console, and its kickstand is now longer and U-shaped.
Nintendo has yet to officially confirm a release date or price for the console, meaning at least some speculation will continue as its release nears.
There will, however, be a Nintendo Direct focusing on the Switch 2 on April 2. Nintendo showcased what appears to be a new Mario Kart game during the trailer.
